What will be in put in place to assure the wifi compatibility for Mac users and GNU/Linux users?...
Even at the Boston City Council there is great resistance by the council office staff to compose emailed notices compatibly! Not only resistance but resentment, especially on the part of the council staff director Ann Hess. Always there are promises by council staff to fix things but the promise has yet to pan out. It is problematical for city and state offices throughout North American who use microsoft software. Banks now are going to GNU/Linux software because it is more reliable. If you have questions regarding the WiFi in Boston, I suggest you RSVP and attend the summit. If you are unable to make the summit we will attempt to answer as many questions as possible. The summit is way to come to an agreement on issues, questions, and concerns such as compatibility for Mac users and GNU/Linux users. Also, please refrain from any personal attacks on our blog. If they continue we will have no choice but to delete your comments.

Our boston city council needs office staff who are more conversant with the technology that would make more open and accessible council proceedings and transactions through the web like john tobin has attempted with this blog. Promote many of the council staff to other spheres of activity and get more personnel with better background in technologies that will make it easier to receive the public records for public hearings and for public meetings without the usual antipathy that council staff often demonstrates to enquirers, without the lack of knowledge that council staff demonstrates to enquirers, establishing a kind of continually improving customer services approach with enquirers. Create resources that are more robust than the limited stuff at http://cityofboston.gov/citycouncil
The notion of establishing wifi is tied in with opening government to more people, recruiting more talented people to municipal public service. And while at it a web link needs to be set up for the Boston Finance Commission that has no information, none of their reports anywhere at http://cityofboston.gov Trackbacks

Please keep your comments on topic. If this post is about WiFi, don't change the subject to City Council Policy. Either talk about WiFi, or get your own blog and talk about City Council Policy. I reserve the right to remove off-topic comments.
