SummerWorks — "Hot Days, Cool Jobs"
ABCD provides low-income, at-risk teenagers with jobs, education, mentoring and tutoring through the 40-year-old SummerWorks program. It is the only youth program in Boston that specifically serves low-income, at-risk youth, including the often overlooked 14-15-year-olds and 18-21-year-olds. Teenagers work at over 160 community sites, including hospitals, colleges, clinics, day camps, museums, and government agencies, and receive mentoring, tutoring and career development services.
Many of today's leaders in government, business, community agencies, academia and the arts held their first job at ABCD SummerWorks.
