Communications at our Boston City Council are wanting. When civic minded people contact the Council for information about proceedings and transactions of this legislative body Council staff deflect enquiries. Instead of a straight forward request for information you are required to have the best of skills for negotiating for public information. This should not be. All people should have access to the public information of the Council. It is time for City Hall to change the long standing denials. Open government, Sunshine open public meetings, FOI freedom of information public records should be given greater emphasis by the Council staff beginning with the Councilor himself making a clear unambiguous statement about the level of customers services people should expect from Council staff.
Please keep your comments on topic. If this post is about WiFi, don't change the subject to City Council Policy. Either talk about WiFi, or get your own blog and talk about City Council Policy. I reserve the right to remove off-topic comments.
