Young people in West Roxbury and Jamaica Plain are encouraged to register on the Mayor’s HOPELINE to be considered for summer jobs working at a variety of community-based organizations beginning next month. Boston residents between the ages of 15 and 18 can register by phone or on-line beginning Tuesday, February 19.
The Boston Youth Fund provides summer jobs to thousands of local teens who want to gain employment experience and earn money during their summer vacation. Typical jobs range from day care assistants and tour guides to mural painters and sports specialists.
More information is available at http://www.bostonyouthzone.com/teenzone/employment/byf/. Flyers in English and seven other languages are available at http://www.bostonyouthzone.com/pdfs/Hopeline2008.pdf. Applicants can also call (617) 635-HOPE (4673).
