Tomorrow’s Presidential Election—Tuesday, November 4, 2008—could make history in Massachusetts and nationwide.
Citizens are expected to vote in record numbers in what could prove to be one of the most important presidential elections of our lifetime. Be a part of history. Get out and vote.
Boston’s polling sites are open from 7:00 a.m.to 8:00 p.m. Please be patient at the polls. Heavy voter turnout could create lines. Give yourself plenty of time to cast your ballot.
If you are unsure of where to vote, the City of Boston’s Election Department (www.cityofboston.gov/elections/) provides a complete list of polling locations by ward and precinct. If you are not sure of your polling site or if you are registered to vote at all, conduct a voter registration and location search by typing your name and date of birth. How to vote instructional videos are also posted on the website if you are unsure of what to do in the voting booth. All of this information is available in several languages. If you want to talk to someone in the Election Department directly you can call (617) 635-3767.
Secretary of State William F. Galvin’s website is also a great resource for election-related information (www.sec.state.ma.us/). The website includes a review of each of the three ballot questions and explains what a “yes” or “no” vote means. It’s helpful to review the questions ahead of time so that you are familiar with the issues before you enter the voting booth. Secretary Galvin’s office can be reached by calling (617) 727-7030.
I believe that every vote counts. Make sure you are counted. Please to remember to participate tomorrow. I look forward to seeing you at the polls
