Boston seniors who have ever dreamed of making it big are invited to participate in the 2009 Boston Senior Idol Contest sponsored by Boston City Councillor John M. Tobin, Jr.
Boston Senior Idol will be held on Thursday May 21 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Jamaica Plain Branch of the Boston Public Library, 12 Sedgwick Street in Jamaica Plain.
“I know there is a lot of hidden talent among our seniors,” said City Councillor Tobin, who represents West Roxbury and Jamaica Plain. “I hope our neighbors over 60 will join us and show us just how much energy and enthusiasm they have for music and performing.”
Anyone interested in competing is encouraged to call Councillor Tobin’s office at (617) 635-4220. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served at the event.
The annual Senior Idol contest is a part of SeniorPalooza, and is presented by Ethos and Greater Boston Elder Services.
